Industrial Stormwater E-Learning Classes

FreeIndustrial Stormwater Workshops are offered for Washington State, and are designed to meet the needs of all levels of stormwater management, from just starting out, to seasoned stormwater professionals.
These professional workshops provide an overview of permit requirements, SWPPP development considerations, overview of potential BMPs to successfully achieve compliance and sampling techniques.
Stormwater 100: Basic Building Blocks of the Industrial Stormwater Permit FREE!
Two Sessions:
Wednesday, June 10: 9 am – 11 am
Wednesday, June 10: 1 pm – 3 pm
This course provides a brief and very high level overview of the basics of stormwater management including:
- The permit and SWPPP
- Facility assessment and description with facility assessment exercise
- Spill response, Sampling, some basic BMPs
- Reporting requirements and Resources
Sessions 1 – 3 are the equivalent of ECOSS’ 101 Stormwater Program Fundamentals workshop. Session 4 reviews a portion of the 201 Advanced Stormwater Management. Choose one, two, three, or all four sessions.
Each session is $100; purchase all four sessions and receive a discount of $50, the same cost for the 101 workshop ($350).
Session 1 – The 2020 ISG Permit & How to Create a SWPPP Webinar, Monday, May 18: 9 am – 11 am
Workshop content includes:
- The Washington 2020 Industrial Stormwater General Permit
- The Permit’s new requirements
- What to include in a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)
Session 2 – Sampling, Labs and Reporting Webinar, Friday, May 22: 9 am – 11 am
Workshops content includes:
- How and where to sample your stormwater
- Sample collection technique
- How to choose a lab
- How to read sampling results
- Requirements for reporting discharge monitoring reports (DMR)
Session 3 – Spill Prevention and BMPs Webinar, Friday, May 22: 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Workshop content includes:
- Spill prevention, control and response; staff training
- Operational, structural and treatment Best Management Practices (BMPs) to help meet permit requirements
Session 4 – Responding to Level 3 Actions and Lawsuits Webinar, Tuesday, May 26: 8 am – 10 am
Workshop content includes:
- What to do when you have a Level 3 Action requirement
- Making the Data Work for You
- Managing a Lawsuit
- The Principles of Advanced Treatment
