Hello, everyone! My name is Lynn Baumgartner and I am the new intern at ECOSS. I’m here for the summer, and I’m working on a project related to food access issues in the South Park neighborhood. I recently graduated with a Master’s in Environmental Science and Management degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I completed a thesis on environmental health and safety practices in the nanomaterials industry. Before that, I lived in Bellingham, Washington, where I attended Western Washington University and worked at ReUse Works, an environmental non-profit. I grew up in Reardan, a tiny farming town in eastern Washington where I raised pigs and played volleyball, among other things.
I’m super excited to be back in the PNW, and I can often be found enjoying the greenery from a bike. I’m looking forward to this opportunity to work with ECOSS on an issue that is important to me and many other members of the community. I’ll be blogging about my progress with this project, so be sure to check the ECOSS blog for updates. Thanks for reading!
