Asiyah Ahmed

Community Engagement Specialist I
Asiyah Ahmed joined ECOSS at the end of 2022 as an outreach coordinator with a passion for community work and education aimed at underserved and underrepresented communities in King County — with a focus in the East African immigrant/refugee population. Asiyah speaks English and Oromo/Garre with hopes to add more languages under her belt!
Asiyah’s favorite dish is a tie between Mawalah (a traditional Somali sweet crepe/pancake) eaten with Suqaar (any choice of meat and veggies stir-fried with a variety of spices) or Bariis Iskukaris (Spiced Somali rice that is cooked in rich beef broth and plenty of spices).
