This program provides important water and money-saving information about leaks to underserved customer communities (Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese). The main topics include how to spot the most common leaks, what to do when you find one, and when to consider replacing toilets for homeowners. This program aims to build trust and relationships within the community.
ECOSS’ outreach involves providing informative sessions around different benefits that the program provides for homeowners and renters (more homeowner-focused but renters can ask their landlord). ECOSS is working to focus outreach efforts at local ethnic markets/farmers markets/festivals that homeowners frequent.
Seattle Public Utilities is part of the Saving Water Partnership, which is a huge initiative that involves 90 other counties in partnership to conduct water conservation efforts.
