The Vision for Clean Water is a regional engagement and planning initiative led by King County WTD to shape the future of wastewater services. ECOSS is actively participating in the planning process by helping develop the necessary engagement documents and strategies for effective outreach. The goal for 2024 was to lay the groundwork for community engagement in 2025, ensuring that diverse voices, especially those from BIPOC communities, are included in shaping the future of clean water planning. Our role focuses on organizing and hosting tabling events that will serve as critical points for education and community feedback.
Community engagement will start in Q2 2025. We are aiming for the following outcomes:
- Strengthened collaboration between ECOSS, WTD, and impacted community in shaping the engagement plan.
- Established a culturally responsive outreach framework that prioritizes language accessibility and engagement with underrepresented communities.
- Created a strategy for tabling events to serve as a key avenue for community participation in 2025.
- Developed planning tools that will guide inclusive and equitable clean water discussions.
ECOSS is playing a critical role in planning and shaping the community engagement process for the Vision for Clean Water, ensuring that outreach efforts in 2025 are inclusive and effective. While direct engagement is scheduled for 2025, ECOSS has collaborated with key partners and reached community leaders and organizational representatives in the planning phase.
