Mario Colón

Community Engagement Specialist I

Mario joined ECOSS in 2023 and is the Spanish-speaking engagement specialist for the City of Burien Zero Food Waste Initiative, the King County Heat Pumps Pilot Program, and the West Duwamish Wet Weather Storage Facility. Moving forward he will help assist the King County Transit to Nature Project and the Seattle City Lights Electric Micromobility effort. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, and is an avid reader who loves to cook, and an aspiring writer. His favorite food is Pepían, a Guatemalan stew that relies heavily on the flavors of roasted seeds and spices. The way he first had it was with pumpkin seeds, and it reminds him of the Fall.
