A sign went up today that indicates the bridge will be closed next Saturday, August 29th. As of right now, no information seems to be up anywhere as to what they’re doing, though crews have been around for the last several days checking things out. Use the First Avenue South bridge instead and cross your fingers.
In other SP bridge news, the South Park Business Association is sponsoring a King County briefing on the South Park bridge, next Tuesday August 25th from 8-9am (registration begins at 7:30) in the Keithly Electric meeting room to “brief local businesses on the status of funding [only $27m of $160m has been secured], specifically the County’s grant application for nationally-competitive economic stimulus grant funds to replace the South Park Bridge. County representatives will also address your questions and concerns, and advise you how you can support their efforts to secure these grant monies.”
